I come from a family of artists. My father
teaches Scene Design at Minnesota State University – Mankato,
my mother is a Fiber Artist and Classical Music fan and my
sister enjoyed a career in Competitive Dance and Teaching
before her 18th birthday.
I discovered art metals in high
school and fell in love with it immediately and was able
to find
an apprenticeship with a local goldsmith – Patty Conlin.
I followed an art metals program to the University of Wisconsin – La
Crosse where I studied with Professor Bill Fiorini and then
grad student Kirsten Skiles.
After
graduation in 2000 I married a fantastic guy named Steve
and we moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida to have some
fun in the sun and enjoy our youth. I was fortunate to find
a job as a bench jeweler with “Jewels by Lubeck” where
Jay Lubeck taught me the fine points of repair. After two
years I felt I wanted to move on and use the artistic degree
I had earned in 2000 so I began my business plan.
I have been in business on my own since
January 1st, 2003. My husband is currently in the military
so we move every now and then. It is difficult to move the
business each time but so far each location has supported
my art in a different way.
I
strive to create designs that are pleasing to look at, comfortable
to wear and sturdy to withstand time. My name is on the business
as well as each piece of jewelry, I stand by my product as
well as my customer service.
I’d like to thank everyone
that supports the arts, what excitement they can bring the
world!
